Hurricane Grace and Beach Home Renovations Progressing Nicely
In this issue of Expat News by Expat Rebel, Renovation Vlog is going on daily and other Expat news. π°. - Chris
Hurricane Grace
We had our first hurricane in our new house. We got everything ready for it in a day and the actual day it came thru it was about 1.5 hours drive south of us and we barely got any rain, just lots of wind, up to 65 kph. We lost some palm tree branches and we can the ocean more because of that from our house.
Electricity was out for about six hours. It came on a little after sunset just in time to watch a Netflix movie.
I recorded three videos about Hurricane Grace.
Mexico Beach Home Renovation Vlog
Iβm 10 episodes into the Mexico Beach Home Renovation Vlog.
The episodes so far are all about Pool Design, Pool Dugout, Pool Update, Supplies, More Supplies, Hurricane Grace makes an appearance and another Pool Update itβs coming along nicely.
Some future episodes are on Inside Paint Job, Living In A Construction Zone, No Electricity and Entertainment Without Electricity, and Stone Sconces plus progress on the pool, house water pressurized, and steam room.
Iβll have many more episodes as we renovate our home to our standards.
New episodes will be coming out before the next newsletter next week so be sure to subscribe to the YouTube channel and click on the bell notification so you donβt miss any episodes.
Pandemic Update
Iβm sure youβve seen all the news about COVID-19 Delta. Lots of drama in the US. Not a lot of drama in Mexico. Yes, wearing a mask is mandatory in public unless youβre at a restaurant and eating. No social gathering which is a bummer. I had a dream that I threw an epic disco pool party the other night. With paid disco dancers and a great sound system all around my finished pool. I think my subconscious is really wanting a party but thatβs just not happening currently. When the pool is finished itβs just going to be a party for two with no dancers except me.

Learning Spanish
I highly recommend theΒ Mexican Moms Review YouTube ChannelΒ as it teaches about Mexican culture but there is a lot of Spanish as well to learn from. I learn Spanish while learning about Rock nβ Roll in Latin America. Highly recommended show as well. It rocked. π
If you want to learn Spanish and enjoy all of Latin America and Spain then start right now. Get our recommendedΒ Spanish Audio and PDF ClassΒ and get working on your Spanish, it takes time so why not start now.
Virtual Mailbox
The day after I decided to leave the US and see the world slowly I got a mail forwarding service, aka a Virtual Mailbox. I need a place that could receive my US mail and scan it so I could read it from anywhere in the world. Now nearly four and a half years later I just love how easy it makes my life.
I get an email when I get mail. I click on the link and read my mail. I save the PDF files for banking and tax stuff for my account in DropBox and then Iβm done.
My favorite Mail Forwarding Service
Watching TV via VPN in a foreign country
When you are physically outside the US or Canada (or your home country) Netflix, Amazon Prime and other streaming services have different catalogs depending on the country.
For instance, Frasier is one of my favorite shows, Iβve seen all the episodes three times, yes all 11 years three times. So Frasier is only available on Netflix US and not Netflix Mexico. So I have to use a VPN to look like Iβm in the US for me to watch the show on Netflix.
When I turn on my VPN and hit refresh I now get Netflix US and can watch that plus many other things.
GetΒ our recommended VPNΒ and watch what you want no matter where you are located.
My Business Books
I retired after my 2019 gran mal seizure which doesnβt allow me to mentor entrepreneurs anymore, but I do leave some books that share my experience.
