Video - Vacationing In Playa del Carmen Mexico
I lived in Playa for two and a half years and loved it. I moved two years ago to the Gulf of Mexico to a small Mexican village on the beach. Now I go to Playa to vacation. I recently did that and had a great time. Playa is the perfect place to go and have some fun. And it was nice to come back home to a small quiet village on the beach.

Easter In Mexico
Easter in Mexico is a big holiday. Huge. The entire country it seems goes on vacation for two weeks. And not every one is going to church, they are throwing parties.
Last week our neighbor started vacation by partying until 5:30am. They quit right before sunrise. And since Mexicans have a much different attitude regarding noise, they can handle much louder noises that most US Americans, Canadians or Europeans can so it mega loud. And getting the police to shut the party down just doesn’t work. They don’t understand that it’s a problem except for some bigger cities which do enforce a noise curfew.
Mexico has locked down beaches in most all of the country, if not all. Officials are concerned about a marked increase in infections of the pandemic because most people are off on vacation right now. And, I can understand that since such a big holiday to take off for two weeks.
Of course, Americas and Europe are concerned. See the Expat News below for several articles that point out the many lockdowns and a potential 3rd wave coming. I’m no scientist so I don’t have an opinion on what’s going to happen. All I know is that I feel safe here in Yucatan Mexico and I don’t take any undo risks. I still eat out when I’m in the big city of Merida and I am going in and staying at my favorite hotel in Merida for the weekend just in case my temporary neighbor throws another epic party.
